Richard

After finishing AAA school of Advertising in 2003, I landed an internship at The Jupiter Drawing Room JHB, where I ended up working as a junior designer for 2 years. Clients included Discovery Health, Planet Fitness and Weleda natural remedies. Mostly branding, BTL campaigns, type-setting and illustration.

In January 2006 I moved to London and managed to get freelance work with Firedog Design for 3 months. They took me on permanently after that and I worked there until April 2007. Clients included BBC, DJ Download.com, and Liquid Telecom. Mostly branding, illustration, flash animation and web usability.

Following a month long retreat in Costa Rica in May 2007, I returned to South Africa, where I have been freelancing as a designer / illustrator. My clients have included Blue Moon Customised Communications (Absa, FNB, SAB, Discovery Health, SAMA Awards, Airports Company South Africa, Eskom and Sasol), It's A Go (Doctors Without Borders, Southpaw Solutions), and Iris London (Sony Ericsson).

Recent projects I've been involved in include visual strategy maps for corporate education and awareness, internal campaign identities and concept / storyboard art.

My goal is simply to keep honing my interpretive and illustrative skills, as to create ever more arresting visual communications through print and digital media.
